Orest Lastow, Sci-Fi Author
Orest Lastow is a Swedish author with a long career as a physicist, inventor, and entrepreneur. Before becoming a full-time writer, he was the CEO of a pharmaceutical company he founded in 2014. Built on his inventions, the company is now publicly traded on Nasdaq Stockholm.
As a scientist, he strives to write science fiction grounded in real physics, maintaining a high level of realism. He describes his books as “not in space, not in the future, and no aliens.” His protagonists are often scientists grappling with both technical challenges and profound moral dilemmas—all while fighting for their lives.

Books by Orest Lastow
Orest Lastow has written one book per year since 2016. In total, there are now seven books and two completed manuscripts. Five books have been published so far.
The PetaHertztrilogy was released between 2022 and 2024. The first installement has also been published in Danish and English.
Ljusporten, the first part of the Junktur suite, was released in 2024.
The first installement of the CXM trilogy was released in 2025. The two remaining parts will be released in 2026 and 2027. Please note that the covers are preliminary.
He has also ware also two completed manuscripts that do not yet have a publishing deal.
Presidenten is the second book in the Junktur suite and is a direct sequel to Ljusporten.
Horror Vacui is also part of the Junktur suite but is a stand alone story, completely independent of the other two. The reason it is included in the suite is that it deals with the same topic—or rather the same physical phenomenon.
